Facilities / Infrastructure in S S Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Davangere, Karnataka

SSIMS has world-class infrastructure facilities and learning resources that provide a stimulating and enjoyable learning experience for students. This includes, large, air-conditioned lecture halls equipped with latest audio-visual aids, e-class rooms with smart boards, highly equipped laboratories and well-connected campus networks. The hostels can accommodate over 500 boys and girls. Student amenities within the campus include, ATMs, auditorium, co-op store, book shop, and canteens. The college campus is eco-friendly, vehicle free and plastic free.

Larger Class Rooms

SSIMS & RC has six lecture theatres in college block with air conditioned, of gallery type in the Institution out of which five with seating capacity for 300 students each & one with 650 students, and one Lecturer theatre in the hospital with seating capacity of 300 students. Lecture theatre are provided with necessary independent audio-visual aids including overhead projector, slide projector, LCD projector and a microphone. All the lecture theatres are been shared by all the departments in a programmed manner. There is a provision for E-class/ Virtual Class in Lecture halls facilities for teaching.

Central Library

The SSIMS’s library is spread over 4,100 sq. m and can accommodate 900 students at a time. It provides access to a range of databases on the campus network, e-resources, and OPAC-related access to its vast collection. It has a separate audio-visual room, computer lab, group study area and private study area.

Hostel Facilities

The SSIMS hostel situated within the college campus with well-designed blocks, for both boys’ and girls’ separately. Each room has been provided with wardrobes, wooden cots, computer tables, book shelves and chairs for the inmates. Common room with television, newspapers and gymnasium are provided. A well-designed common dining hall and food served on the campus is exclusively vegetarian. An efficient and hygienic mess has been possible by dedicated staff.

Transportation

The Institute provides transport services regularly for both of our students and staffs our between campus and the city. This Transportation facilities are available to the students and faculty members for commuting from various points in the city to the Institute.

Extensive Lab Facilities

To understand the complexities of and to keep pace with the advances in medical science, experiments and case studies need to be conducted in well-equipped laboratories. The College has an array of modern laboratories with state-of the art equipment. Trained staff provide assistance and guidance to the students.

Auditorium

The Institute has its own larger & more beautiful auditorium facility with the capacity to accommodate about 1000 persons. The auditorium is used for cultural as well as scientific programs like Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, etc.

Bank & ATM Facilities

We’re happy to provide banking and ATM facility for all of our college students and staffs for their better needs and to save their precious time and effort. We have State Bank and Bapuji Co-Operative Bank’s ATM within our college campus.

Canteen

College has spacious canteen facility in the college. A variety of south Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with highest quality. Canteen has a big kitchen and kitchen staff take extra care to provide the students and staff with nutritious and hygienic food in the campus canteen.

Eligibility & Admission Process for S S Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Davangere, Karnataka

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
