Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College situated in the picturesque views of Bay of Bengal.

This institution established in the year 1996 by our Founder Chairman,(Late) Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram, a noble Philanthropist and Educationist of extraordinary vision in the field of education who is the founder of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University.

In 2003, Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College and Hospital received permanent recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Ministry of Health, Government of India. It was also renewed in the year 2010.

The Medical Council of India has recognized Post Graduate courses in General Medicine, General Surgery, Dermatology, O&G, Paediatrics, Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Biochemistry, Radiology and P.G Diploma courses in D.C.H., D.G.O., D.Ortho., D.O., D.A., D.DVL in this Institution from the Academic year 2006-2007.

Our library has a rich collection of more than 12,051 books and bound journals in print form to pacify the needs of the users. Some of them are very costly encyclopedias in the field of health & allied sciences which have procured for the benefit of the medical fraternity.. It is well appointed with well-furnished reading rooms besides large number of latest text and reference books on all aspects of medical sciences and subscribes to National and International Journals.

HOSTELS

VMMC Karaikal provides well-secured Residential facilities to the outstation boys and girl students coming from different regions of India / abroad.VMMC Girls’ Hostel shifted to its own building with an area of 0.546 acre, at Karaikal within a distance of about 0.5 kilometers from the Academic campus.

Facility:

The VMMC Karaikal hostel provides furnished rooms which includes Table, Chair, Almirah, Iron Shelves, Cot, Curtain Rod, Light, Fan/AC.
Medical facilities in terms of Doctor’s consultations are available everyday for 02 hrs at the VMMC Karaikal Campus and once in a week in the Girls Hostel. Doctor is also available on call to take care of general and specific ailments. Psychologist visits twice in a week in the campus to counsel the students.
Canteen services are available within the Vmmc Campus as well as Girls Hostel Building and offers – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.
Badminton, Table Tennis, Volley ball facilities are available within vmmc Campus.

TRANSPORTATION

For the security and added comfort, we provide buses for the transportation of our students. The routes and pickup points are clearly laid out, and you requested to follow the timings set for the pickup. In addition to the transportation provided by us, PRTC / TNSTC buses from all corners of the city ply to karaikal, since we located at near to the city. The students can choose their preferable mode of transportation.For more details check below.

To ensure safety and security of girl students on demand from the parents the institution is providing transport facility at competitive rates on no profit no loss basis.
The college has employed qualified and experienced drivers.
Transport schedule designed in such a way that buses will reach the campus 10 minutes before the commencement of academic work of the institution.
The Student shall pay the prescribed fee in one lump sum for each academic year. No installments will allowed.
They shall produce the fee receipt on demand
The students advised to be at the boarding point 10 mins before the arriving schedule.
If the student arrives late at the boarding point after the bus leaves the point she shall make her own transportation arrangement.
In the evening the buses will leave the college as per the schedule
No change of schedule or route is permitted.
In case of sudden failure of buses the students shall cooperate with the management and shall make their own arrangement. Every best effort will be made to avoid such situations.
No student will be allowed to board the bus without College ID Card
