Auditorium / Seminar Hall

A well-equipped auditorium with seating for over 500 people serves as the venue for the regular conferences, workshops and seminars that are part of the learning process at Raja Rajeswari Medical College & Hospital. A Medical Education Department setup with the objective of enhancing quality of education, dedicates itself to implementing continuous improvement in standards. The 5000-seater ACS Convention Hall at Raja Rajeswari Medical College & Hospital is a vast space that transforms itself to meet varied needs.

It is a venue for large conferences and seminars. It hosts a range of cultural activities. It serves as an examination centre for large groups. Last but not the least, it is also designed to accommodate sporting activity and games. The seminar hall is spacious, well ventilated and furnished halls. “The Way to a Heart is Through the Stomach”. The students of Raja Rajeswari Medical College and Hospital get mouth-watering AND appetizing food stuffs at their door steps (well! figuratively). A wide variety of South Indian, North Indian, Chinese and of course Dietary food too is available in the canteen.The student’s mess offers hygienic, nutritious and balanced food. The mess also offers non vegetarian food in the stipulated days. The food cooked using ingredients with absolutely no compromise with the quality. Apart from these, the campus has a petty shop with a wide variety of fast foods which is certainly a hit with the student community.

Recognizing the importance of sports and games for the development of both body and mind, RRMCH has established comprehensive facilities for students. The sporting infrastructure includes cricket, football, tennis, basketball, volleyball grounds and courts. Facilities for indoor games are also available such as table tennis, chess and badminton. Teams from the college regularly participate in inter-collegiate events and they have done the college proud in various sporting disciplines.

Health Club

The college offers round the clock gymnasium facilities to the students. The gym equipped with multi-gym (12 stations), Smith machine, Breacher curls, arm machines, bench press, flat benches, bars, dumb-bells, plates, dip stands and host of other equipment’s for the students to utilize and stay fit and healthy. As an institution dedicated to healthcare, RRMCH lays emphasis on providing excellent fitness facilities to the students. This takes the form of a full-fledged health club. The gymnasium at the health club equipped with the latest fitness training equipment. Additionally, the health club also features separate Sauna, Yoga and Jacuzzi besides a special Steam Room for various health benefits.

Also attached to the health club is an excellent swimming pool that stays open from early in the morning to late night.

Hostel

On- Campus accommodation is available to out station students in the 4 spacious hostels. Separate UG and PG hostels for boys and girls accommodate up to 2500 students with a choice of shared and individual rooms. The lady’s hostel UG with Ground + 4 floors and UG gents hostel has Ground + 5 floors. Clean and airy, the rooms offer beds, wardrobes and study tables and chairs. NRI quarters with ground + 5 floors and PG quarters with Ground + 5 floors, staff quarters with Ground + 5 floors complete the housing scenario. A common room with recreational facilities, laundry facilities and mess facilities are features of each hostel, besides a visitor’s room.

Guest faculty, visitors and others accommodated in well – furnished guest houses which are available on advance intimation and availability. The canteen at RRMCH is yet another facility that adds to the homely atmosphere. The canteen offers appetising fare from snacks to full-fledged, well balanced meals.

Library & Information Service

The Central Library stocks more than 22,000 books of various subjects in medical and allied health sciences. Reputed journals, both Indian and foreign are available in departmental libraries. The total number of books in the central and departmental library runs over 22,000 titles.

• Students encouraged to avail other facilities like e-mail, internet, CD-ROM browsing & photocopying. Ample and separate reading space has provided to both the students and faculty along with comfortable seating arrangements.
• The Central Library all the departments, pre-clinical and clinical have provided with departmental libraries which are well stocked with standard text books and other works of reference

Skill Lab

A well-equipped clinical skill lab supports the acquisition, maintenance and enhancement of clinical skills of students in health care profession. Within this non-threatening environment, patient volunteers, simulated patients. Mannequins and Information technology employed to provide hands on learning experiences for practice of essential clinical skills.

Smart Class Room

A Smart Classroom is a traditional lecture style teaching space that has available technological equipment that can used to aid and enhance instruction of a course. The smart class room equipped with the basic technology that will enable to connect laptop to the projector. Features a smart podium with a touch panel control system, PC and laptop connection, document camera, DVD/VCR Player, projector, and screen and also have an overhear transparency projector.

Transport

The college has its own fleet of buses that ply to and from various vantage points in the city. The buses are available to facilitate easy travel for the students and staff residing outside the college campus.

• For the convenience of students and faculties staying off-campus, RRMCH has a fleet of 20 buses that ferry them to and for. The buses traverse the city and suburbs and routes are planned with a vivid vision to provide maximum convenience even as they meet students’ study schedules.
• Additionally, the college has added advantage of being well connected to the BMTC bus services and a major station of the under commission. Metro railway is just a few minutes away

Museums

RRMCH is also home to an Integrated Medical Museum that adds an extra dimension to medical learning. Located in the spacious 5th floor of the college building, The Integrated Museum encompasses 7 depts that includes Anatomy, physiology, pathology, Forensic medicine, community medicine, pharmacology and Microbiology with designated areas for each. The Display includes over 300 dissected specimens and 1000 plus models in Anatomy and Pathology alone. The museum also includes instruments, books, manuscripts as well as medical images that provides deeper understanding of human body and the afflictions it is prone to.

The medical museum has year-round access to the students and helps them to foster collaborative learning between multiple departments.
