About Manipal Tata Medical College, Baridih Jamshedpur

Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) at Baridih, Jamshedpur, in the East Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, is a premium institution for medical education and training under a consortium initiative between Tata Steel and MAHE Manipal. MAHE Manipal has been formally recognised as an Institution of Eminence (IOE) by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Govt of india via signing of a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during Oct 2020.

With only three medical colleges in Jharkhand, the establishment of MTMC will help augment availability of trained doctors, improve healthcare facilities, and thereby contribute to the well-being of the local populace. This initiative will also contribute to the increase in medical seats for aspirants of medical education in the State.

Under this consortium initiative, MAHE Manipal has created necessary infrastructure for a medical college at Ardeshir Dalal Memorial Hospital (ADMH) Campus in Baridih, spread over 20 acres. A total of 150 seats will be made available for MBBS students annually and the Tata Main Hospital (TMH), Jamshedpur, is the attached teaching hospital of MTMC Jamshedpur.

Tata Main Hospital

The Hospital

Tata Main Hospital (TMH), the Medical Division of Tata Steel and its six clinics at Jamshedpur provide curative healthcare services to the employees of Tata Steel and their families. Apart from TMH and the clinics at Jamshedpur, hospitals are also located at Jamadoba, Noamundi, Sukinda and West Bokaro for catering to employee healthcare at the Raw Materials locations. TMH also extends its facilities to non-Tata Steel patients from Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas.

TMH was established in 1908, soon after Tata Steel was born in 1907. It is an 983-bedded, secondary care hospital equipped with modern facilities. There are two super clinics (Sakchi and Baridih) and four clinics (South Park, Kadma, Sonari and Sidhgora) located across Jamshedpur that form the peripheral centres and provide primary level healthcare. TMH also doubles as a teaching institute with DNB courses offered in a number of specialties.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Manipal Tata Medical College, Baridih Jamshedpur

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)
