About Government Medical College, Chhindwara, MP

Government of India has proposed to establish New Medical Colleges to promote and enhance Medical Education as well as to minimize the shortage of doctors in the country.Under this scheme, it was proposed that Government of MP will establish a Medical College at Chhindwara for 100 M.B.B.S students admissions annually.

For this purpose District Hospital Chhindwara which is functioning as multi-specialty 426 bedded Hospital is being upgraded to 600 beds which will more than fulfill the norms of the Medical Council of India.

 Chhindwara Institute of Medical Sciences, Chhindwara is being constructed par excellence with objectives of modern medical education along with research facilities.

The College in future will affiliate all the Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical Institutes in one campus.  31 acres of land has been obtained for College campus.  The district hospital which is being upgraded is only 2 kms away on a straight main road from the college campus.It is proposed that the campus of Medical College will have sufficient facilities for state-of-the- art teaching facilities.

Provision has been kept for construction of a 750 bed hospital on the college campus itself.  Provision has also been kept in the college building for upgradation of the total number of MBBS seats annually to 150 in the future.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Government Medical College, Chhindwara, MP

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
