Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam founding date was March 28, 1957. The training scale was minimal starting in 1975; the school could only train more than 200 doctors. Hue University of Medicine has been building and developing for almost 65 years, and especially for more than 40 years after the unification of the country. Throughout that time, the university has worked hard to fulfill its duties in scientific research, training, medical examination and treatment, and administration of grassroots medicine. Up to now, the school has trained over 12,000 postgraduate medical staff members for the Central Highlands region of the country as well as almost 30,000 doctors, chemists and bachelor’s degree holders.

There are 1,190 full-time staff members working for the School and School Hospital at the moment. There are 456 teaching staff members in the school. The school provides 101 majors for postgraduate study, of which 32 are in specialty level I, 31 are in specialty level II, and 12 are in specialty for resident physicians.
