Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City School of Medicine, Vietnam. French colonists established it as a medical school affiliated with the University of Saigon in 1947, at the height of French Indochina. The principal was C. Macias, a professor. It situated in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, at 28 Testard/Tran Quy Cap Street (now Bo Van Thanh Street). The school split into two sections on August 31, 1961, when it came under the control of the Government of the Republic of Vietnam. University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Saigon. The Faculty of Medicine founded Saigon Dental College as a department in 1964.

Following the Vietnam War, in 1976, the three universities combined by the Communist Party of Vietnam and renamed as Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He had two floors of offices, a library, a lecture hall for conferences, and three nearby houses for study space at the original headquarters.

Ho Chi Minh City was home to several basic science and basic medical training facilities, including the Saigon Hospital’s chemistry department, the Human Research Institute’s anatomy department, and the Pasteur Institute’s parasitic and microbiological research division. The facilities of the Human Body Institute  utilized to investigate anatomy, physiology, illness, and histology. Students studying medicine and pharmacy enrolled at the school by 1961. The pharmacy faculty relocated at Nam Kiko Igia Street.

Medical and dental students continue to study at the center, which relocated to a well-equipped medical study center (Hongbang Street, District 5) on November 16, 1966. It features three 300-seat auditoriums, a 500-seat main auditorium, laboratories, and a library.

Reading Room

With approximately 25,000 books, the library occupies more than 500 square meters. It offers specialized collections of printed books, e-books, back volumes, CDs, and DVDs in the fields of engineering, management, mathematics, economics, psychology, tourism, music, humanities and social science, law, design, interior design, architecture, pharmacy, journalism, and mass communication. The library has print and electronic journal subscriptions to both domestic and foreign publications. The library offers free WiFi, a room for video conferences, NPTEL video courses, ePG pathshala, the Swayam Programme, and other government-initiated e-learning resources. The library is completely computerized, with SLIM software being used for automation. Barcode technology has been introduced, and biometric entry and exit are used by library patrons.

Cafeteria

The university feels that nothing makes students happier than nourishing, freshly prepared food. Every day, our cafeteria and mess serve delicious food to keep our kids energized and well. Three large cafeterias with cherry dining areas are available at the university. To sate demands for snacks, there’s also a juice and light refreshment outlet. Students studying at SBUP are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the campus cafeterias. The hygienic conditions and freshness of the food are monitored closely.

Sports Complex aims to broaden the educational experience by providing staff and students with chances to hone their social, leadership, and personal abilities.
