Through the application of a broad range of methodologies—historical analysis, literary studies, ethnography, and social science methodology—the Centre critically explores how medicine works, the basis of its authority, and the ethical and moral aspects of its practice. It explores the interconnection between medical advances and wider societal movements, both in the past and in the present, with a view to informing new intellectual agendas in the subject.
