The Panzhihua University School of Medicine began as Panzhihua Health School, established in December 1972 as the “Sichuan Dukou Health School.” It was consolidated into Panzhihua University in August 1998 and reorganized as the Medical Department, which was eventually renamed the School of Medicine in December 2006.
