About Kunming University of Science and Technology Medical School

The First School of Clinical Sciences and the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, which was originally founded in 1941 as the Affiliated Hospital of the School of Medicine of National Yunnan University (also referred to as Yunnan University Hospital or YDYY), is an excellent grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospital. It incorporates a broad spectrum of services such as medical treatment, clinical education, scientific research, disease prevention and control, elite healthcare, emergency public health response, and critical medical services.

The hospital works at two campuses—Xichang Road and Chenggong—situated over an area of 455 mu (about 303,333 m²) with a cumulative built-up area of 504,100 m². With a staff number of more than 6,500, YDYY consists of 60 clinical and technical departments and has 2,536 beds. It encompasses 6 national key specialty clinics, 24 provincial key specialties, 18 provincial quality control centers, and 6 provincial clinical medical centers.
