Helwan University Faculty of Medicine “Helwan University” was formally inaugurated by Presidential Decree No. 70 on 26 July 1975 as the third public university in Greater Cairo. 

About Helwan University Faculty of Medicine

Although formally established recently, the historical roots of most of its faculties reach far back in time. For example, the Faculty of Applied Arts dates back to the 1830s, whereas some of the other faculties, e.g., Fine Arts, Art Education, Music Education, Home Economics, Physical Education for Girls, and Physical Education for Boys, were established in the early 1930s. These early faculties are the “mother schools” in their particular areas, not only in Egypt but also throughout the Arab world.
