Unlike the traditional method of rote memorization, this curriculum focuses on practical application of knowledge. 

The teachers are themselves actively participating in Faculty Development (FD) programs to refine teaching approaches and re-design classes to ensure improved learning outcomes. Parallel to this, the university undertakes Institutional Research (IR) to track trends among undergraduate students and post-graduate training, informing admissions policy and curriculum design to ensure that it produces doctors that meet community needs.

The curriculum is designed to expose students early on to practical medical experience. During the first year, students are enrolled in introductory courses in all medical sciences and attend nursing observation, practice in emergency resuscitation, and tours of hospital facilities. 

The second year and the first part of the third year concentrate on basic sciences of medicine with practical training on sophisticated equipment added to that. Some of the students also attend Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions where they are in small groups investigating, discussing, and solving medical problems on their own, except for occasional guidance from faculty. This enhances problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.

Between the second part of the third year and the fourth year, students undergo intensive training in clinical medicine. Integrated lectures of internal medicine and surgery by organ system place them well for clinical practice. Students take two national inter-university common achievement tests: Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) at the conclusion of the fourth year, which test clinical knowledge and practical skills.

During years five and six, students undertake clerkships in clinical settings, where they directly gain experience in outpatient departments and hospital wards under the stewardship of veteran physicians. The clerkships enable students to put into practice what they have learned, cultivate clinical skills, work closely with patients, and comprehensively prepare for the national medical board exams, eventually becoming well-rounded, ethical, and compassionate medical practitioners.
