Xi’an Medical University, originally founded in 1951 as the Shaanxi Provincial Health Technical School, has undergone several stages of transformation: it was upgraded to Shaanxi Medical Junior College in 1994 with the approval of the State Education Commission, became an undergraduate institution in 2006 under the approval of the Ministry of Education and was renamed Xi’an Medical University, designated in 2018 as a “First-Class Applied Undergraduate Institution” in Shaanxi Province, included in the first batch of undergraduate admission institutions in 2019, and officially approved in 2024 as a master’s degree-granting institution.
