Learning takes place across three campuses—Wollongong, Shoalhaven, or Southern Highlands—and at one of eight rural hubs. The first 18 months are based at one of the three campuses, complemented by community placements. The subsequent two and a half years focus primarily on clinical immersion.

• Exposure to various clinical disciplines. Some students may complete this phase at a rural campus.
• Participation in an integrated clinical clerkship, with all Australian MD students placed in regional or rural settings.
