Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM) is one of China’s highest-ranked schools for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). About Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine – China

The university has its history traced back to 1924, when it started as the Guangdong Specialized School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It was then changed to the Guangdong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1936 and subsequently became the Guangdong College of Advanced Studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1952. With the approval of the State Council, it was officially opened in 1956 as Guangzhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the first four universities in China specializing in TCM.

In 1995, it formally changed its name to the present one, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, to mark its transition into a comprehensive and research-based university. Currently, GZUCM runs on two major campuses—the Higher Education Mega Center and Sanyuanli—with a combined area of 1,205 mu. The university has 15 secondary teaching schools, 18 independent research institutions, and 4 directly affiliated hospitals.
